You must think I'm really stupid because of this... I do:
I registered last night for IRC with the username "AdmiralSpock" and I forgot the password, because it's different than what I was going to use. Can it be deleted so I can put it in again? I feel really stupid... just remember I'm a simple newbie... :o
Thanks

hehe, don't ya hate that? It can be fixed but i don't remember how. try the /msg authserv help or whatever it is. I think it tells you what to type in the server window thingy to get to the help area.

Well, it didn't have me enter an email address or anything to be able to reset it...

sadly you can't delete accounts, they usually delete themselves after so much inactive time though

Have you closed the program? you could try scrolling up to see what you typed if you havent. Or if you keep logs...
other than that i can't help you :( However my nick is now registered :S. heh):

Well, I closed the window since then, thinking I'd remember the password. And I don't have logs either as I just installed MIRC last night... can't the admin delete the account?

Won't the system kick me off because I'm using the registered name without using the password?

Go through the mIRC chat logs, it will either be from the channel you were in or from the status.log file.

you won't get kicked unless someone who knows your password actually kicks ya.

There's nothing in any folders in my mIRC folder, except the files in the root directory and there are no files that look like a log, just configuration files, readme files, help files, etc...
I'll just use the name without logging in..

Guess you have to wait 30 to 90 days for it to timeout and then you can re-register it again? :)

It's either 6months or one year. After that the account name is unregistered and you can register it again.
