Not only can you post on these forums, but you can also go into live-discussions and meet up with the people behind the web site by going to our IRC chat channel #vBFans on the vBFans network.

You can use trillian or mIRC or any other IRC chat client to connect to the following server: irc.vBulletin-Fans.com on port: 6667 - once connected, join: #vBFans and you will find us there.

The staff are all setup as Master users, and they will have channel operator status, you can chat with them (if they are online) and you can ask them questions about this web site or about vBulletin. (or whatever else)

Regular users and forum members and friends of friends can also get channel operator status. But .. please don't come begging for it.

Need help downloading, installing and setting up mIRC, to connect to our irc chat channel? Here is how !

1- Download mIRC
2- Install it
3- Configure it

## Step 1 : Download mIRC

If you need more detailed information, or want to ignore this help, point your browser to http://www.mirc.co.uk/ and enjoy.

* Click Here to Download mIRC ! (http://www.vBulletin.nl/files/mIRC.exe) (save to your desktop, so you can find it back quickly)

## Step 2 : Install it

Goto the location where you have downloaded mIRC.exe to and double click it to install it, follow the on-screen instructions - it will be easy and quick!


## Step 3 : Configure it

When you load mIRC up by double clicking on the icon it created on the desktop or by going to start > programs > mirc , it will load a screen where it will ask for your details.

Full name: You can enter anything here, like: Chat Guest
Email address: You can enter anything here, like: Chat@Guest
Nickname: It is best to use your forum name: floris (in my case)
Alt Nick: Just in case it is in use: xiphoid (in my case)

Press the OK button.


## Step 4 : Connect

You are then in the 'status' window, type:

/server irc.vBulletin-Fans.com 6667 -j #vBFans

And it will load you to the irc server and automaticly join the channel #vBnl


## Step 5 : Chat

All you have to do is enter some text in the below input field and press enter, it will appear in the main window for the channel. If there is somebody there, they can read it and reply!

May I point out that the IRC Chat discussions should be taken with a bit of salt, lightly.

And the only rules for chatting that are 'real' are the ones with a sticky post, or in an announcement. Other 'rules' are just made for a fun discussion or to have a fun chat.
