I've integrated a few sites thanks to the previous question I asked, but is there a way to integrate usergroups - as operators (such as moderators and above have +o or whatever status). I've read a lot lately, but am somewhat unsure on moderating.

TIA.

Type: /msg chanserv help

This will give you a lot of management commands from ChanServ to help you manage your chat channel.

/msg ChanServ aop #YourChannel username
This will add the user to your channel aop list.

/Msg ChanServ vop #YourChannel username
This will add the user to your channel vop list.

If you require any more help, please join the #help chat channel.

Brian, I think what he is asking, is whether or not there is a script available that will automatically give operator status to members of your forums that are moderators. For example, if you made a member on your forum a moderator, they would automatically become an irc operator.

Unfortunately, I do not know the answer.

Yes, that is more along the lines of what I am asking. :)

You mean IRC Operator or Channel Operator? The position of an IRC oper is not one for which a person can apply. It is granted by Server Administrators and tends to be given to those peoples usually have more experience with IRC than normal users, and are therefore qualified to deal with problematic situations. They have access to commands that allow them to administrate the server or the network. Anyway, are you hosting your channel on our server?

We have the IRC hosted (pay-for) on another server but we have full access to it. I've already (downloaded) checked out one file that allows changes to be made to add such as the OPER Block.

I'm not too terribly knowledgeable on how IRC works as its been several years since I've used it (ok, sometime last century), however, what I am looking to do is allow moderators to "moderate," if you will. This is for a very large site (actually 3 sites) that have the potential for users to get unruly and moderators need to do their job on IRC as well as in the regular forums. I basically need them to be able to kick/ban/whatever is needed (nothing special).

Hi davidw,

I'm sorry, generally you need the staff for that network to help you, unfortunately, that's well outside of our jurisdiction if it's not this network. However, if you wish to have your #channel hosted on our server, just let us know. We (The vBulletin-Fans Network Operator) are more then happy to have it set up for you.

Anyway, if we can help you with anything on this network, let us know. :)

Cheers,
Brian

We have pretty much full control over everything - we are just not deploying anything until we can make sure moderators can do their job.
