First of all, you can choose to use how to connect.

a) From a browser?
b) From a program running on your computer?


Connecting from a browser.

If you connect from the browser you will need to have java installed on your computer. It usually is. Then go to the java chat url and it will connect you to our chat network and auto join you to our #vBFans chat channel.

Connecting from a program.

If you want to connect to our irc chat and have more control over the chat experience you are best to download a program such as x-chat or mIRC and use that to directly connect to the chat.

Point the chat client to the following server details:

/server irc.vBulletin-Chat.com
If it asks for a port, use 6667

If your school, work or home system blocks port 6667 for irc, try this instead: (same network, but this leaf chat server supports port 9999 too)
/server irc.vBulletin-Chats.com 9999

Once connected you can type: /join #vBFans
this will jump you into our chat channel.

To start your own chat channel, type: /join #yourchat
And replace yourchat with a unique new name.
